Insurance For ABA Therapy
Getting access to the right care shouldn’t be overwhelming. At The Buddy Center in Greenville, South Carolina, we help families understand their insurance benefits, navigate approvals, and receive the coverage they’re entitled to for high-quality ABA therapy services.
Understanding
ABA INSURANCE COVERAGE
ABA therapy is considered an evidence-based treatment and is covered under South Carolina’s autism insurance mandate. This means most health plans must provide benefits for diagnostic evaluations and ongoing therapy. Our team walks you through what is and isn’t covered so you know exactly what to expect.
Coverage can include:
- Comprehensive ABA assessments
- Direct 1:1 therapy
- Parent training and caregiver support
- Treatment plan creation and progress reviews
- At-home, school, daycare, and/or clinic therapy
Insurance We Accept
We partner with a variety of major insurance providers to ensure families have access to the support their children need. Coverage varies by plan, but ABA therapy is widely recognized and usually covered for people diagnosed with autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities in South Carolina.

We will explain any copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximums.

What Is The Approval Process?
While we can provide estimated costs, we must complete a few required steps to confirm coverage and submit your information for insurance approval.
1) Call Us
Call us directly or reach out to us via our contact form to set up a time to speak about your child’s needs. You will speak with our Clinical Director Lacey Shaw, BCBA- and have the chance to ask any questions you may have.
2) Intake Form
After your phone call, we will follow up over email with an intake form. Here you will fill out insurance information, and any previous diagnosis or doctor evaluations.
3) Submit To Insurance
We will contact your insurance provider to verify benefits and request an authorization to conduct a behavioral assessment.
4) Schedule Assessment
After we receive an authorization from your insurance provider, we will contact you to arrange an assessment appointment. This session allows us to meet you and your child, discuss concerns, and complete a full evaluation of his or her needs.
